Two-Step Verification
Having Two-factor Authentication (2FA) active in your account makes your account more secure. Use this option to set (or remove) 2FA on your account.

Delete Account
Use this option to delete your XSplit account. This is irreversible and all personal data and purchased licenses will be deleted as well.
Linked Accounts
Linked accounts allow you to link your other social media accounts with your XSplit account.
Primary
Link your accounts as primary so you can use these accounts as alternative login options.
Others
Accounts linked under this section are directly linked to your XSplit account outputs. Disconnecting these accounts will unlink them to your output.
To link your account just click the Connect Button. You will be prompted to either enter your account details, or click the correct account.
Clicking Disconnectwill unlink your account from the dashboard.
Active Sessions
Active sessions shows a record of your XSplit account’s login activity.
Status
Shows if your account is Active Now (online) or Offline
Date
Shows the list of dates when your account was logged in
Location
Shows the approximate location of where your account was logged in
Selecting End Sessionlogs out the account from its corresponding XSplit app, or from a previously logged in session in your browser.
Logs
During troubleshooting, a Support Staff may ask you to generate an enhanced log file from XSplit Broadcaster through Help > Upload Log Files.These logs can be viewed/re-downloaded/deleted through the Logs tab.
You can Deletethe logs individually by clicking Delete.
For bulk deletion, select the checkboxes next to the logs you'd like to delete (or just click the checkbox next to Application) to delete all logs in one go.

5 Reasons to Ditch OBS and Buy an XSplit License
So, you want to start streaming video on the Internet? That's great! Whether you want people to watch you play games, or you want to host a podcast, you will need some software to do the job. A quick look at Google will introduce you to two major players: Open Broadcaster Software (OBS) and XSplit.
You'll find a lot of mixed feelings on each, but you'll see that most people tend to recommend OBS, mainly because it's completely free, whereas XSplit requires you to purchase a license in order to get access to all of its features.
I'm not one of those people, however, and I'm here to tell you that a premium subscription to XSplit is worth getting.
The Cost
First, we need to take a look at just how much XSplit costs. In order to get access to all of the features listed below, you'll need the more expensive Premium subscription; it includes XSplit Gamecaster and Broadcaster. There's also Free and the slightly cheaper Personal option. With Premium, you'll be looking at $24.95 for a 3 month license, $59.95 for a 12 month subscription, and $149.95 for 36 months of access. It's not cheap, but it does offer some fantastic features, the best of which are below.
Scene Preview Editor
As someone who hosts a podcast through my streaming software, this is literally the greatest feature ever created. Instead of having to actively show a scene to your viewers to edit it, XSplit lets you right click a scene and edit it without taking the current scene off.
So why is this a big deal? Let's say you have a scene featuring all of your hosts faces during a podcast and they are talking about a game. You have some video of this game you want to show, but you need to add it to your scene. Without a preview editor, you'd have to change scenes for your viewers, and have them see you making edits. With the preview editor in XSplit, you can make the changes behind the scene, and show them the new scene with the gameplay only when it's actually ready for their eyes.
If you're only streaming gameplay, this feature won't be a big deal for you, and OBS might do the job, but if you're creating more detailed broadcasts that require frequent scene changes, this is a feature that you'll wonder how you ever lived without.
Scene Transitions
It's the little things that take a broadcast to the next level, and smooth transitions between scenes is one of those things. You can choose from quite a few transitions, so when you click from one scene to the other, it looks smooth and professional. OBS just hard cuts from one to the other, and it doesn't look nearly as nice.
Again, if you only use one scene during your broadcasts, you might not need this feature. But you have to think: could switching scenes make your broadcast better? Could it attract more viewers and possibly get you to that coveted partner status on Twitch? Getting into streaming gameplay is a highly competitive market, and you need to make yourself stand out. Spending $60 seems like a lot, but if it increases the chances of your channel growing, isn't it worth it?
Thumbnail Preview
This is a small one, but one that's quite cool. When you mouse over a new scene in XSplit, you get a little thumbnail that shows you what it looks like. This way, you can tell if anything is missing.
This feature goes back to the aforementioned Scene Preview Editor, because if you notice something wrong in the thumbnail, you can quickly right click the scene and edit it. This can save you some serious embarrassment. No one wants to put up an incomplete scene, or show a camera that isn't looking at the right thing. You might even show something embarrassing, and no one wants that.
Skype Video
James Bruce, Rob Wiesehan, Rachel Kaser, and myself host a podcast on Twitch called the Technophilia Gaming Podcast. Rachel, Rob and I live in different parts of the US, and James lives in the UK, so we use Skype and webcams to show our beautiful faces during the show. With OBS, you have to add Skype as a Window capture and manually crop everything. With XSplit, you click Skype Video as a source and it just appears in the scene.
Of course, it's not perfect, as you'll still need to crop out the Skype extra bits and clean it up, but for podcast hosts, it's definitely quicker and easier. It's all about making your broadcast look as clean as you can with as little effort on your part as possible, and this feature helps with that.
Quicker Screen Capture
Let's say you're streaming and you want to show your listeners something from a web browser. In OBS, you need to do a window capture, which will show the whole window, and then crop the part you want. In XSplit, you simply select "Screen Capture" and draw a box over the part of the window you want to show. It works like many popular screenshot programs, so it feels natural. Viewers don't see anything you don't want them to, and it's incredibly quick.
This can also be used in place of the aforementioned Skype video feature. You can just draw a box over the Skype window and show the parts that you want.
The use cases for quickly capturing parts of windows are nearly limitless. The whole point of broadcasting is to show your viewers something, and this feature makes that quick and easy. It allows you to focus on being entertaining, rather than cropping.
Is it for You?
These are the five biggest reasons to upgrade to XSplit. There are other feature, such as scrolling text, access to the Gamecaster software for more basic streaming, custom text scripts, and more, but these five really put it over the top.
If you look at these features and think, "these won't help me with the way I broadcast," then that's great. Save your money and stick with OBS (or try out the free version of XSplit), as it's a fantastic piece of software, and I am in no way trying to downplay it. But, if you really want to create professional broadcasts, the XSplit features above make that easier to do. It's not perfect, and there's some places OBS comes out ahead, but on the whole, these extra features give XSplit that little nudge.

Confirming Your Account as a Team License Manager
If it's your first time accessing the License Manager in the Dashboard, you will be prompted to confirm your account as a Team License Manager first.
Click Confirmin the popup to unlock License Manager in your account.
Once confirmed, the License Manager Dashboard Pagewill become available to you, as shown below:
License Manager Overview
There are two sections in the License Manager page, which gives you full control and provides an overview on your account's Team Licenses.
License Summary
The License Summary gives you an overview of the Team Licenses that's currently in your account.
License Type
Shows you the name and the subscription type (duration) of the license
Total
The total number of Team Licenses in your account
Active
The number of Team Licenses taken (a combination of those taken through Domain Licensing and Team License invites that were accepted)
Reserved
Shows the number of Team/Domain licenses that are not yet claimed/accepted
Available
Shows the number of Licenses still available that are not yet in use
Renewal Date
Shows the date in which the Team Licenses will renew
Team Licenses
Here is where the email addresses of those using your Team Licenses are shown so you can monitor and manage their status.
Shows the email address of the Team License recipient
License
Shows you the name and the subscription type (duration) of the License
Status
Shows whether the license is still Pending(user hasn't accepted the license yet) or Active(The Team License was accepted by the user)
Renewal Date
Shows when the current license will renew
Auto-Renewal
Enable this to allow the license to automatically re-subscribe the user once it has reached the Renewal Date
Revoke License
Removes the email address from the list, which also removes any licenses granted upon the account.
Blacklist User
This puts the email address to the License Manager blacklist, which filters and prevents it from receiving any Team Licenses in the future.
Adding Licenses
Team Licenses can be purchased directly from the License Manager. To do this, click Add Licenses.
A popup will open and here you can customize the type of License you'd like to purchase.
Subscription Type
Allows you to select the duration of the license. (Choose from 1 Day, 1 Month, 3 Months, 12 Months, and Lifetime)
Product
Here you can select the type of XSplit Team License you'd like to purchase. (choose from Premium Bundle License, VCam Premium License, Broadcaster Premium License, and Presenter Premium License)
Total Licenses
Determines the number of Team Licenses you'd like to purchase. You can drag the slider left/right, or type the number directly.
The total price will be displayed on screen. Once done, click Confirm Changesto proceed to the next step.
For 300 license or more, the Confirm Changes button will be replaced with Request for Pricing. Click the Request for Pricing button and our Sales Team will assist you through chat.
You will see a summary of the License you intend to purchase. Once you have confirmed the license information to be correct, enter your addressand credit card details, then click the Pay buttonat the lower-right corner to complete the payment process.
Once done, you will receive a confirmation popup.
Your newly-purchased licenses should now be visible in your License Summary.
Manage Subscription
If you want to add more licenses to your current subscription, you can do so by clicking the Manage Subscription buttonin the License Summary.
This button is available only when you have an existing subscription in the License Summary.
The Add License popupwill appear and it should automatically select the Subscription Type andProduct for you.
When adding the exact same type of license, it should show the number of licenses you currently have, as well as the number of additional licenses you are planning to purchase.
Here you can adjust the number of licenses you would like to add on top of your existing subscription. Click Confirm Changesonce done.
It's not possible to reverse the payment of your existing license using Manage Subscription. If you have purchased an incorrect number of licenses by mistake, please contact Support by clicking the Chat icon to the lower-right corner of the XSplit webpage.
You will see a summary of your Current Planand the New Plan, with details on how much the extra cost will be. By default, this transaction will utilize the last debit/credit card details you have used. You can change this by selecting the Change Payment Methodlink.
Click Confirm Changesto complete the payment.
Assigning Licenses
Once you have successfully purchased your Team Licenses, you can now start assigning these licensesin your organization. To do this, click Assign Licensesin the Team Licenses sectionof the License Manager.
The Add Userspopup should appear. Here you can add the email addressesof your recipients in the box provided. You may also select Upload CSVif you have a CSV file with your recipients' email addresses.
The License Typeallows you to choose which License you would like to give to these users, based on your currently available Team Licenses.
We recommend keeping "Send Email to users about the license offer" checked, so your recipients will receive an email invitation with a link that will make it easier for them to accept the license.
Click Submitonce done. The email addresses are now added to your Team Licenses roster.
The Status of each newly-added email address is Pending, which indicates they have not accepted the Team License Invitation yet.

Bulk Actions
Using the Bulk Action Toolis useful if you want to perform mass changes to your Team License list.
To do this, click the checkboxnext to the email addresses you wish to modify, click Actions, then choose whether you'd like to Revoke Licensesor Delete Expired Licenses.
Download CSV
Click on the Downloadicon next to Assign Licenses. This will allow you to download a copy of your Team License recipients in CSV file format.

Licensesgives you a summary of XSplit licenses currently active in your account.
When you have an active subscription plan, you will see the type of license, as well as the date the subscription will renew. If you wish to stop the automatic renewal of your license, click here to learn how it’s done.
When a renewal for a subscription has already been stopped but the license has not yet expired, you will see the date the subscription will end. The end date will also be shown for redeemed non-lifetime license codes.
Once the subscription ends for a specific type of license, the affected XSplit applications can still be used, albeit with the limitations afforded to an account with a free license.
For lifetime licenses, it will indicate you have a lifetime license and will not show any dates.
Recurring Subscriptions
Recurring Subscriptionsshows you information about XSplit license subscriptions that are currently active in your account. It shows the type of licenses, as well the date the license will automatically renew.
Lifetime licenses will not be shown in this part of the Dashboard.
Cancelling your Recurring Subscription
You can stop your subscription’s automatic renewal at any timeby cancelling your Recurring Subscription.
Click the Cancel Subscription buttonof the XSplit license renewal you wish to stop.

OBS vs. XSplit: Comparison
Performance
Is XSplit better than OBS or vice versa? The performance of the software is an important consideration that helps to answer this question.
This factor incorporates how much of your CPU is needed to power the software, and if the software is too power-hungry, it can result in lagging and similar problems.
How do the two compare in this case? Let's see.
Since the software is often used to stream games, we compared their performance while streaming games.
Some of the titles that were used in testing both out are quite graphics-intensive and require larger CPU usage.
Well, both software support 720p content at a 30 fps frame rate, which is the minimum acceptable standard.
Increasing the frame rate to 60 FPS at 720p resulted in lagging and breakdown when using XSplit software as the recorder.
On the other hand, we observed that OBS continues to work well at a 60 FPS frame rate at 1152 × 658.
When it comes to the effect on your CPU, both are matched evenly, and there is no noticeable difference when using OBS or XSplit.
Customization
The ability to customize your experience and the functions of streaming software comes in pretty handy.
We observed that OBS software gives you plenty of customization options. Aside from giving you more leeway in changing the settings, it also supports the installed plug-ins. With OBS, you have more control over what you are streaming.
XSplit Broadcaster is great but doesn't offer as many customization options as OBS.
This is down to OBS being an open-source application. In this category of OBS vs. XSplit comparison, there is no contest as OBS gives you far more than you'll get from XSplit.
Features
The two parameters we have considered so far have OBS leading the way. Moving on to the features, there is a reversal in preference.
Using OBS, you'll observe that it offers superb quality. However, when it comes to features, it doesn't offer the same range of functions as you'll get from XSplit.
For example, XSplit has a simulated green screen, which you won't find in OBS.
For Open Broadcaster Software, overlays are some of the most essential tools that you need. While OBS offers you some overlays, it doesn't give you access to powerful options, which traps you, so to speak.
Meanwhile, XSplit Gamecaster lets you enjoy plenty of useful tools and features on one screen and with a single touch. With XSplit, you don't need a second monitor for the organization. You can set up live broadcasts with minimal fuss.
Video and audio quality
With XSplit, there are plenty of options for recording locally. Part of what you get includes x264 and x265 codecs, which aren't offered on OBS.
Thus, if you are thinking about uploading videos to a platform like YouTube, it is often easier to do so with this software. It will optimize the video and audio on such platforms.
Also, the software offers direct uploading of your streams to platforms like Twitch and Skype. This can be added as a source to your broadcast presentation, making it pretty useful for MMORPGs.
And if you go for the premium version, you can edit your videos as you make them.
OBS does come with some specific advantages in this area too. While you might not get audio and video optimization with this software, it offers you a wider range of file formats to choose from.
Pricing
When considering these two software options, there is no way to get around the pricing. To get the most features of XSplit, as we have considered, you need to buy the premium version.
XSplit premium plans are as follows:
- VCam Premium ($8/month or $60 Lifetime license): This plan comes with premium access to VCam and you can remove or edit the watermark. You also get VIP support.
- Presenter Premium ($9/month or $200 Lifetime license): This plan gives you unlimited slides, multiple projects, VIP support, and you can remove watermarks.
- Broadcaster Premium ($15/month or $200 Lifetime license): With XSplit Broadcaster, you get multi-streaming, unlimited scenes, VIP support, and you can stream in HD.
- Premium Bundle ($20/month or $230 Lifetime license): This plan includes premium features from all XSplit apps. You also get early access to new releases and private beta access for all new products.
On the other hand, you will be happy to know that OBS is open-source software that is available for free.
To use it, simply choose the relevant OS option and download the software from the website.
As long as you take the time to master it, you should get good value from this option.
Ease of use
As we have seen above, OBS is free and relatively straightforward to use. However, when you first get the software, you might find it challenging to set it up.
If this is your first time, there are lots of hurdles to cross when trying to set it up, and you might even need professional help.
Also, the lack of overlay while playing will require that you get another monitor and adjust other features.
However, you can choose between Streamlabs OBS (SLOBS) and the regular OBS Studio. SLOBS is better for beginners and is easier to set up.
XSplit offers a very easy setup. As a beginner, you will find it easy to install and begin using. While there are settings to be tweaked, these are few and far between.
Which is better in this regard? We would stick with XSplit.
